Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop-rock
boy band formed in the year 2009. The group is composed of Kendall Schmidt,
James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega. They signed initially with
Nick Records in 2009. Then, Columbia Records transferred them to their new
label. They appeared on Nickelodeon's television series, Big Time Rush. The
series aired from November 28th, 2009 to July 25 2013. The premiere episode
introduced the group's debut promotional single, "Big Time Rush".
Three studio albums were released by the group: BTR in 2010 and Elevate (2011)
as well as 24/Seven (2013). In 2014, the band took a break that would last
until 2021. They returned to live performances in the studio and released
"Call It Like It's Seeing It". Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush a
record deal in 2009 while simultaneously airing the tv show Big Time Rush.
Nickelodeon then partnered with Columbia/Epic Label Group in order to create
the series and release original music. The series' debut single, "Big Time
Rush", released on November 29 in 2009. The announcement was made by
Nickelodeon in November 2009, the show premiered for the first time in the
American market. The song was later released internationally. It debuted during
a preview of the show. The show is currently the show’s opening theme. The
promotional singles were also released by the series, including "City is
Ours" (with Big Time Rush) and "Any Kind of Guy". Big Time Rush
recorded "Famous" by Play. The song was first released on iTunes on
June 29th, 2010. The song's second, "Halfway There", was also
released on iTunes shortly after the premiere of the show. The song quickly
became the first charting song on Billboard Hot 100. Due to digital sales the
song climbed to number 93. On September 21 in 2010, Big Time Rush released
second single "Till I Forget About You", to promote the release of
their debut album. On October 11, 2010, the album, called BTR, was made
available to the general public. The album reached the top 3 spot on Billboard
200 and sold 67,000 copies in its first week.
