Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada, to Sandra Kay (Gale), nurse and
Lance Frederick McAdams, an auto driver and furniture mover. Rachel is of
English, Welsh, Irish, and Scottish heritage. Rachel began her acting career at
the age of 13 and by 13 was performing in Shakespearean productions at summer
theatre camp. She later completed her studies with distinction with the BFA
degree in Theater at York University. After her debut on the Disney's The
Famous Jett Jackson (1998) and co-starred on the Canadian television show
Slings and Arrows (2003) in a comedy-drama focusing on the trials and travails
of a Shakespearean theater troupe, and was awarded a Gemini award for her
performance in 2003.Her breakout role as Regina George in the hit comedy Mean
Girls (2004) instantly put her on the short list of Hollywood's hottest young
actors. After that she was cast alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama
adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). This was a
hugely successful film at the box office , and was the most loved romantic
drama for a young audience. McAdams and Gosling became lovers during filming
and continued to date through the middle of 2007. McAdams and Gosling were
engaged and began to date. McAdams was seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State
of Play (2008) as well as State of Play (2008). She also appeared in the film
The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's global
hit Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the smart producer for Morning Glory
(2010). She also was the fiancee with a materialistic character Owen Wilson in
Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama
territory with The Vow (2012), which she co-starred with Channing Tatum.
McAdams also stars alongside Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012), and Noomi
Rapace plays Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma’s thriller.
