Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. Her birth date was November 11, 1966. Following her film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donnevan as A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988), and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) were other characters. Doody began modeling when she was approached. It turned out to be a profitable career. Doody was very strict about not doing glamour or nude work. This rule extended into her acting career. After getting noticed by the casting directors of the James Bond new film, Doody took a small part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody made an appearance in John Willis Screen World Volume 2, as one 12 promising young actors for the year 1986. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 when she was given the role as a Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody was a silent actress in a 1987 film adaptation to The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. Doody's first leading role came in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took probably her most high-profile part to date in the role of Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors that have played James Bond. Doody appeared in the 1991 British mini-series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. It was based on the Hitler Diaries publication scam. Then she moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson character. She then played Flannery Sheen's wife and agent opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II came out in 1994. Doody was part of The 2002 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration for an award. In 2004, Doody starred in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was a part-time actress in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Doody was a guest on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way in 2014, a documentary. She received the Almeria Tierra de Cinema award on 21 November 2018.
