Summer Bishil Bio

Summer Bishil was a Pasadena, California native. When she was just three years old, older, her family and her moved to America. Summer was a student at American as well as British schools and her family was living in the United States. They returned to Pasadena just before her birthday, which was on 14th September. Summer was just five years old when she discovered her passion for acting and enrolled in her first acting class. Nine months after that, she signed with an agent/manager, and started her full-time job. When she isn't working,, she is enrolled in college and studying for her degree. She was among the stars of the future featured in Vanity Fair's August 2008 cover story, "Hollywood’s New Wave: Hollywood's Most Hot Kids in Hollywood". At the age of 14 years old, Bishil started acting classes. In just one year Bishil was offered an agreement by a manager or agency. Bishil was initially seen in the Nickelodeon TV series Just for Kicks. She was later seen in a variety of other children's shows. In 2007, she played the main character in Alan Ball's film Towelhead which was a re-imagining of his novel. Dana Stevens, a critic for Slate and Slate, stated that Bishil's performance was "the most authentic thing" in the film, which even with the best intentions it was utterly fake and a little embarrassing. It was as if it was an extended PSA about inappropriate touching. Bob Strauss, a Los Angeles journalist for a newspaper, said that Bishil "...is one of the best natural actors in recent times. In the September 12 Los Angeles Times review, Gary Goldstein stated that Summer Bishil is an unproven "...newcomer who is a newcomer, delivers an impressive and sassy performance in the role of Jasira. She was a part of Wayne Kramer's Crossing Over project in 2009 which starred Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta. Jay Reiner of the Associated Press liked her portrayal. She was chosen to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan's 2010 film The Last Airbender. This was to be the primary theme of the planned but never made sequel.
