importantly, she enjoyed dance classes. At age 8, Britney tried out for The All
New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) however she was turned down due to her age. It led
her to an off-Broadway show, "Ruthless", for an entire two-year run
as the title character. She tried again in The All New Mickey Mouse Club
(1989), this time , as the mouseketeer. In the latter part of the 90s, Britney
signed with Jive Recording Artist. The debut album of Britney Spears,
"...Baby, was released in 1999. Britney also sold 9 million copies (as at
July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I Do It Again" that was

Spears) and is a big sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. At a very young age, Britney
was always fixing to be a star with her idols like Madonna, Mariah Carey and
Whitney Houston, the young Britney could always be heard singing no matter what
else was going on around her. After taking extensive dance and vocal lessons
and appearing in various show and fairs Britney was a candidate for The All New
Mickey Mouse Club (1989) TV show (1989-1994) at the age of 8, however, she was
too young to play the part. Britney along with her little sister, Britney
relocated to New York, where she was featured in numerous TV commercials as
well as in an off Broadway play called "Ruthless" which was directed
by the guidance by Natalie Portman. She fell in love with music and dance two
years later, when she auditioned for the role of "Mickey Mouse" and
was able to win the role along with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
