Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is well-known for his tough-edged roles or funny characters in action films. Together, they have appeared in movies that have grossed more than $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis, a actor from West Germany, was born in Idar–Oberstein West Germany on March 19, 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey) who resided at a military base in the United States. His family moved to the U.S. shortly after he was born, and he was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked at a bank and his father was a welding and factory worker. Willis was drawn to drama during high school. While working in a New York City café, he was allegedly "discovered". Then, he went on to appear in a few off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night it was discovered that he was spotted by a casting director who appreciated his persona and was in need of bartenders for a minor film part. After countless auditions Willis made a few film appearances which were usually uncredited.
