Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his name. & music executive. He is the third of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's children. His father was a wrestler and also the founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings who are sisters Kana, who is often called Grace as her middle name Grace, and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. The family was raised in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, where he was a member of the club that played varsity badminton. After graduation from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, He attended UC Santa Barbara. He earned two degrees: one in sociology, and another in feminist studies. He was a student at the college who made records on his own and held underground concerts in his Biko space at Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. He was also involved in student activism at UCSB and was the founding member of the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. By his early 20s, he was running his own label that he called Dim Mak. The name is a reference for his hero from his childhood, Bruce Lee. The band released I'm in the House in March 2010 as a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq, the alter-ego of will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. The song was ranked the top spot at No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in its debut week. The track later made it into the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 on both charts. The track was featured on the MTV show Jersey Shore as well as in the feature film Piranha & the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer-songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a interview in May 2010 with HitQuarters, that he and Rivers Cuomo had recently worked w/ Aoki on an album. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the top dance artist in terms of revenue in North America from tours. His collaborations include artists such as Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici and Fall Out Boy. He is well-known for his remixes of artists like Kid Cudi.
