Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American broadcaster. Her current role is an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in 2016. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first job with Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by her CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues drugs, immigration, as well as others on the Texas as well as the Mexico border. It was during a time of summer when she was with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered a job. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school but already knew what she was going to do. At the end of the day she fell in love with the university. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. She completed her schooling and was admitted to the university for a master's degree of media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
