Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18th, 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities when she was a student at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed with a second-place finish in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix had graduated high school in 2003, signed a sports contract with Adidas. She later attended college at the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal in 2004 at the Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. She broke an unofficial Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 second. She was the youngest world champion of 200 meters of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 defeating her long-time Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently at the top of the podium throughout her events during the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
